MEDIA FILES – Revealing Media Files And Bins At The Finder Level
Did you ever want to find a Media File in the Media Files folder (to save or to move it)? This used to be a real pain in the butt (remember that the media file names by default are those crazy long strings of characters), but now there is a feature called REVEAL FILE. Here's how it works:
A - Select the MASTER CLIP for which you want to see the media file (NOTE: this works ONLY one clip at a time)
B - Go to the FILE MENU
C - Select REVEAL FILE
D - After a moment the Media Files folder will open and the media files will be highlighted and ready for you to move or copy.
- UPDATE:
- You may now also select a bin in the Project Window, go to the File Menu and select Reveal File.
- You may also Right-Click on a bin in the Project Window and select Reveal File.

admin-benjamin — Thu, 01/14/2010 - 00:05The Media Tool in Avid will let you do this. The Media Tool will let you see all the media for a project (or for all selected projects). It will also allow you to duplicate, delete and move the media. Check the Avid Help menu and "The Avid Handbook" by Steve Bayes & Greg Staten for more information on using the Media Tool and the "Consolidate" function.
